Transferring to Franklin K-8
Information about Transfers, Kindergarten Enrollment, and the Transfer Window for Franklin K-8 School.
All prospective new students to Franklin need to have a transfer request submitted to the district office during the transfer window each Spring. Once the transfer window is completed, transfers to Franklin are awarded and parents are notified via email. Kindergarten Enrollment
All children who turn 5 by September 15 can enroll at their boundary school for the 2022-23 school year. We encourage families to make the best choice regarding their student’s readiness for kindergarten. If you are hoping to have your child attend a school outside of their boundary, you will need to enroll in your home boundary school first before applying for a transfer. The transfer window is open in early spring.
Inscripción al jardín de niños
Todos los niños que cumplan 5 años antes del 15 de septiembre pueden inscribirse en la escuela de su vecindario para el año escolar 2022-23. Alentamos a las familias a tomar la mejor decisión con respecto a cuan preparados están sus estudiantes para el jardín de niños. Si espera que su hijo asista a una escuela fuera de su vecindario, primero deberá inscribirse en la escuela de su área de residencia antes de solicitar una transferencia. La ventana de transferencias se abre a principios de primavera.
Transfer Window
The transfer window opens in early spring. Students with native or heritage speakers of Spanish will have preference in our Dual Immersion Schools. Students with siblings already at the target school will also have priority over those students without. If there aren’t enough spots available at the target school, a lottery system will be implemented. The Transfer Application will be available in English and Spanish.
Ventana de transferencia
La ventana de transferencias se abre a principios de primavera. Los estudiantes de español nativos o por herencia tendrán preferencia en nuestras Escuelas de Inmersión Dual. Los estudiantes con hermanos que ya están en la escuela de destino también tendrán prioridad sobre los estudiantes que no tienen. Si no hay suficientes lugares disponibles en la escuela de transferencia, se implementará un sistema de lotería. La Solicitud de transferencia estará disponible en inglés y español.
