Trip Dates: November 5th-13th, 2020 for the current 7th grade class
Note: The 7th grade Washington DC trip has historically happened in the spring; for this year’s class, due to changes in staff and some planning challenges, this year’s trip will happen in the fall of 2020 (in the student’s 8th grade year). The hope is to get back to a spring trip for 7th graders going forward.
For the last several years Franklin 7th Grade students have traveled to Washington DC for a nine day trip. We take along a parent for every 4 students and have a wonderful time exploring our nation’s capitol. Truly we “do” DC from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Museums, Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts – just to name a few!
The first half of the trip’s account balance will be due by March 20, 2020; the remaining balance will be due by June 1, 2020. Money for the trip is deposited at the school. Each student will have a separate account. Checks should be made out to Franklin School. You will receive a receipt when a deposit is made, and our office will then deposit your check with the school district. As far as we know the cost of the trip will be about $1,625 per person.

Partial scholarships ($200-$300) are available and awarded based on need. If you are asking for a scholarship, you must also be working the fundraisers.
Parent Volunteer Needed
We are looking for a parent who would be willing to commit to a minimum of two years of going on the DC trip to train with the food prep team. For more details, please see the application! Note: Applications should be printed, completed, and submitted to the main office of Franklin School.

We will be staying at the Marriott Residence Inn at 801 New Hampshire NW in DC.
