OBOB Book Club

2018-2019 Franklin Oregon Battle Of the Books (OBOB) Book Club for grades 4-8

Are you a student in 4th-8th grade who loves to read? Then you should join an Oregon Battle of the Books team.

  • Students form their own teams of 4-5 students.
  • Teams sign-up on rosters posted in 4th and 5th grade classrooms, and in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade literature classrooms, as well as in the library.
  • Students will bring home permission slips for parents and students to join the OBOB email distribution list.
  • Teams read 16 books, divided as the team chooses. Start reading now – books are in the library!
  • Battles take place during school hours: practice battles in January and official battles in February.
  • A parent volunteer should be designated for each team. This volunteer can optionally host/organize team meetings. The volunteer for the winning teams, in elementary and middle school, would need to attend the Regional battle (late February or March, date and location TBD) and the State Battle, if applicable, with the team (April date and location TBD).
