Franklin Specific

2nd Quarter Staff Appreciation Luncheon – Wednesday, January 29th

Let’s thank our teachers & staff for all they do for our kids with Cafe Yumm style rice bowls! 

Lots of food items needed – cilantro, fruit tray, rice, quinoa, brown rice, Yumm sauce, peppers, avocados, tomatoes, broccoli, black beans, dessert (gluten free & any diet), chicken breast, drinks, bowls, cheese, sour cream, feta.

Please bring the rice/quinoa in a crock pot or similar appliance to keep warm for a couple hours. 

Kindly collect your container after school.

Calling all scientists! Science Night is Thursday, January 23rd, 6:00-8:00pm

Science Night is seeking professional scientists to present at our annual event. Science Night is a free event for all Franklin students and their families. There are hands on activities for all ages. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in Science Night, please contact Melody Johnson @ mj01681@gmail.com. Space is limited! Flyer!

Pennies for Patients Drive is coming – February 3rd – 14th

For the past seven years, we have collected 1000+ dollars in coins to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for childhood cancer research. Collection bags will be in all classrooms K-5, and in select classrooms 6-8. Watch this video – more details to come!

OBOB Update

Elementary

We have 42 4th and 5th grade students on 9 teams participating in OBOB this year! Practice battles started Friday and will continue every Friday during school time throughout the month. Official battles start in February, also on Fridays 12:30-1:30 pm. OBOB parents will receive a welcome email soon. If you have not signed a permission slip to be on the email list, please email me your student’s name and grade at franklinpta.obob@gmail.com to be added to the list.

Middle School

Middle School OBOB practice will begin this month. Days to be determined, but will be twice per week during 7th period. Official battles will start the 2nd or 3rd week of February and be once per week, also 7th period.  If students have been reading the OBOB books but have not formed an official team yet – there is still time! Go to the library to sign-up! Middle school OBOB parents will receive a welcome email soon. If you have not signed a permission slip to be on the email list, please email me your student’s name and grade at franklinpta.obob@gmail.com to be added to the list.
